Lunch with Southern Writer, Eve La Salle Caram

I had a lovely lunch with the writer, Eve La Salle Caram, at El Caserio in Silverlake.
Eve is the author of five novels, including those in TRIO, A Corpus Christi Trilogy and the interconnected duo of The Blue Geography and Wintershine.

Eve and I teach at the Writers' Program, UCLA Extension, where we became friends. She also teaches at Los Angeles City College, Cal State Northridge, and has conducted private workshops in Rome as well as in Los Angeles.

We had a marvelous time talking about writing and mutual friends, and oh, the food at El Caserio was quite good. They claim to have South American and Italian cuisine. My favorite is their lengua (tongue) with a lovely red sauce; Eve had linguine with clams. And the desserts were so pretty, I had to take pictures of them.

I visited Eve at her place and we were delighted to see wild ducks in her pool, although I'm afraid they'll have to leave -- we are hoping they'll be fine.

Mother's Day this weekend, dear Readers, don't forget the Mothers in your lives!
